Мы так привыкли полагаться на свой телефон, что не можем и дня без него представить! Сегодня мы поговорим о «телефонных» словах в повседневной речи, без которых никуда!
Всем известно, что мобильный телефон может называться по-разному. И в русском есть самые различные варианты – «труба», «мобила» и «могила». Не менее разнообразен английский. Посудите сами.
Благодаря сленгу кокни, известному шутливыми грубоватыми рифмовками, телефон, как ни странно, иногда именуют “ dog ” (рифма “ telephone – dog and bone ”, сократившаяся до просто “ dog ”).
В разговорном американском варианте существует слово “ horn ” (по сути «рожок, горн, труба») для обозначения телефона, по аналогии с русским разговорным словом «труба».
В британском разговорном можно услышать еще вариант – “ blower ”. Это становится понятным, если вспомнить, что “blow” означает «играть на музыкальном инструменте, особенно духовом», что снова нас приближает к «трубе».
А если у вас очень большой по размерам мобильный, его назовут “ brick ” (кирпич). Любители телефонов-раскладушек знают, что официальное название “ folding phone ”, а разговорный вариант – “ shell-phone ” (телефон-ракушка) или “ flip phone ” (от “ flip ” – переворачивать, перекидывать).
Но далеко не все знают, что городской стационарный телефон носит название “ landline ”.
Вместо привычного всем “ phone number ” в разговорной речи можно услышать просто “ digits ” (цифры) или “ keys ” (код, клавиши):
Did you get his digits? — Ты получил его телефонный номер?
Did you get Jack’s keys? — Ты получил телефонный номер Джека?
Телефонный звонок называют “ tinkle ” (звон, звяканье).
Возможно, вам известен такой вид гнева, как «дорожная ярость» (“ road rage ” – агрессивное вождение).
Возникшее по аналогии слово screen rage (экранная ярость) — означает то, что испытывал почти каждый, когда ему приходилось отвечать экрану собственного телефона, получив смс неприятного содержания к примеру. Более экстравагантные проявления “screen rage” – кричать на собственный дисплей или даже проклинать его!
С отправкой сообщений связаны такие полезные выражения:
Mistext –отправить сообщение по ошибке другому человеку.
Sext – отправлять очень откровенные сообщения, с сексуальным подтекстом. Как ни удивительно, это слово вошло в словарь лишь недавно.
А “ nonconversation ” означает то, чем мы чаще всего занимаемся по телефону — бессмысленными разговорами.
Applepick – это не сбор яблок, как вы могли бы подумать, а кража чьего-либо Айфона. Что и говорить, досадно!
